"Wax on Wax off"

Aloha my name is Dustin Awong, - Owner/Detailer

Welcome to Wax Monkey Auto Detailing! My goal here is to hopefully have all the vehicles here in Kona, and one day the Big Island, the best they can look. For one, we have quite a bit of sunshine so let's make the best of what we have and not spoil it with dingy looking cars.

Have a look around, if you have any questions I'll be glad to answer them, or if you would like to book an appointment, please email me at Dustin@waxmonkeydetailing.com

swirls, Spider webbing, Scratches.

These few things can make your car look bad, especially in the sun where it counts the most. Now, the way to remove it is to correct the problem by polishing and bringing back the shine. This cannot be achieved by covering up with cheap wax, nor just any wax, the problem will come back time and time again.

Rain drops?

Do raindrops seem to just stick to your paint, flatten out after a rainfall or just look lifeless on your vehicle? You may need a fresh layer of wax! It won't only make it look better when it's wet, it will protect it in the long run!

Why detail

Because who wants a dull dingy car in our awesome Hawaii sun.

Why detail

Because who wants a dull dingy car in our awesome Hawaii sun.

Why detail?

First of all it will keep one of the most expensive investments you make lasting and looking better longer, resale values go up, and heads turn when they see a clean car.

The cost for a total paint job can be 10x the amount of a detail, only if basic care was implemented in the beginning.  Once every 2 weeks a wash is really necessary here in our Hawaii weather, maybe more depending on your driving habits, a polish and wax is what is is bringing out the shine

to your pride and joy, not to mention a nice clay down to remove all that nasty fallout from the vog we have all day long, mucking up the paint, (try to put your hand in a ziploc bag and run it over the paint) feel the grit? That's all the bonded contaminants that comes from the road, bug guts, fallout (vog), and other fun things. Now that's just the paint.

Now when it comes to automatic carwashes, please dont do it, it may be cheap and easy but we all know thats never good, one those brushes can and will damage your paint more than clean anything, next the water thats used in the wash mix is recycled (not thats a bad thing) its not the best filtration in the market nor changed on a timely basis.

Next imagine what you do to the inside of you vehicle day in and day out... think about it, the time and abuse you do to your car is amazing. Every so often you may need it freshened up a bit. It may be for the sake of yourself, kids, or you are going to sell the car, or maybe the in-laws are coming, who knows the reason, but give me a call if you do.

My passion for detailing started at a young age while helping my father with the weekend cleaning of our family vehicles.  That spawned a deep fascination with the whole industry, from what waxes and cleaners to use, to even the types of soaps that work best.  I have been perfecting my craft for years and will be for many years to come.
